As an Events Associate, you’ll join a highly supportive team who deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external clients, undertaking administration and support of assigned meetings and events, working within our dedicated conference venues.

The University of Manchester, Conferences and Venues (C&V) provides conference, meeting and event venues, accommodation, and services throughout the University.  We offer year-round dedicated facilities to multi sited venues for various national and international events. We pride ourselves on offering a high-quality service to all our clients.

Due to the requirements of the events, there will be some early morning, evening and weekend work involved with this role.

You will focus on:

  • Supporting clients throughout the event journey, including on the day event/venue delivery, ensuring that the highest attainable standards in the provision of facilities, services, product/brand quality, customer service and hospitality are consistently reached.
  • Maintaining clear and accurate event tracking information and event administration.
  • Overseeing the preparation of facilities and services to ensure the success of your events.
  • Up-selling the University’s conference facilities and services throughout the client’s event journey.

About You:

As an Events Associate, you will have the following:

  • A qualification in a hospitality or business related subject, or professional qualifications (s) combined with demonstratable professional skill and/or knowledge gained through relevant industry experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Evidence of readily accepting individual accountability and effective use of initiative
  • Ability to manage and prioritise your own workload.
